FO: Glynis

Glynis and I have had a stormy relationship. She confused me from the start -- that whole thing where you move the marker at the beginning of the round. It just didn't seem like that could work. But, it did. I knit the pattern as written -- and any modifications could be called "mistakes." I used an orange colorway of Trekking XXL. It feels and looks beautiful. The colors are actually richer than they appear in the picture.
Will I make another pair? Probably not. The lace pattern was not intuitive to me, making for a slow project. Nonetheless, I'm glad we got acquainted.

Beautiful! Those are socks to be proud of.

Incidentally, I'm pretty sure I made about 3 pairs of socks for my son out of that exact same Trekking orange yarn. he LOVED them, and now his little sister wears them all the time. They've gotten a tad fuzzy, but the yarn has held up really well in the hard wear its received over the last 3 or so years. It's a good think you like the Glynis socks because they will probably last you a long while!

They are very nice...and it not called a mistake - it's a design element.

They are very pretty, but you've convinced me that I wouldn't enjoy knitting them. I like how you said that the pattern wasn't intuitive. I like to eventually get a "feel" for a pattern. Having to concentrate every stitch is unappealing to me. Congrats on your tenacity:)

i started out reading thinking oh I have this book, I should make them! Then I thought maybe not! Your experience sounds like they weren't a fun knit, but they sure did turn out nice anyway.
