Sweater Languishes

Here it is: my Minimalist Cardigan.
The most minimal thing about it is that I have done a minimal amount of work on it.

Part of the problem is the tedious seed stitch. Another part of the problem is that I have been mostly doing gift knitting.

But the biggest problem, I think, is that I'm so used to fast projects, that I'm having trouble with a project that has such delayed gratification. But I REALLY do want to be able to wear a sweater that I knit. I'm thinking that I'll be able to knit and watch a lot of movies over winter break -- and that would be perfect time to seed stitch.

Sweaters really are about delayed gratification, unless you're really speedy. Maybe you could knit a sleeve so you'd have some visual progress.

that is the one thing that's put me off knitting that cardigan - I love it but do not love seed stitch that much. The look yes, the doing, no. But keep going!!

I realized that I haven't made any sweaters this year - and this is why - it is hard to stay focused on a big project!

Someone in my knitting group gives herself rewards for completing sections or knitting a certain amount.

It is beautiful though - and it will be gorgeous once its all done!
