In Madison, we got 14 inches of fluffy white stuff yesterday -- a snow day! I love snow days. There is something so cozy about curling up with a book -- or knitting -- while the snow piles up outside.
Fourteen inches of wet, heavy snow gave me a special appreciation for Farm Boy and his snowblower! I didn't help shovel so I did penance by cleaning and cooking. I did squeeze in a little knitting:some stealth, but also I worked on these:
These are Lacy Mock Cable Socks. It's a great little pattern that looks like it's cabled --but isn't! It knits up fast, which is good in this case. The yarn is Lorna's Laces, which I always love, but I'm not crazy about the colors. I acquired this skein via Ravelry when I first discovered the joys of other people's destashing. I think I was too impressed by the Lorna's label to think a lot about the colors. It's striped pattern of baby blue and pink -- not my ideal sock combo. (Though it is pretty and would be very cute for a baby project.)The destash thing could be dangerous! It reminds me of my little problem when I first discovered Ebay.

I had the same experience with eBay and destashing! Now I'm more picky...but I have picked up some gorgeous yarns from both those sources, so can't really complain!
The snow looks so pretty! I like the socks and the way the colors mix together.
I limit myself to checking the Ravelry destash group to once a week - otherwise its just too tempting.
Very pretty sock - great pattern!
Still no snow in NYC. None. ARGH.
I'm not usually a fan of the pink and blue together, but I think it works on your socks. They look pretty!
Snow Days are always fun even if you use them to be productive. The socks will be pretty even if the colour way isn't you cup of tea - it does work well with the pattern.
oh i want a snow day. Many snow days! How lovely.
That is a great pattern. One of the first I made after plain socks and in a similar colour too!
