What happens when a a struggling teacher and his young family get caught up in the world of a wealthy neighbor in Brooklyn Heights? I know I want to know.
What I finished recently and recommend:
Mennonite in a Little Black Dress by Rhoda Janzen
This memoir of life after divorce introduces a new twist with the author's retreat to her Menonnite parents' home.
What I didn't like so much:
A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick (2009) A wealthy industrialist in a small Wisconsin town in the early 20th century sends away for a mail-order bride. It's a good read, but it dissolves into a romance in the end. Union Atlantic by Adam Haslett Once again I am underwhelmed by a book the critics raved about. A contrived story that tries to be a comment on current society but is, in the end, superficial and unmemorable.

Thanks for the link. It was an interesting read (and particularly well-written, I thought!)
