As you can see, I whipped up a batch, and I'm happy to say that the folks down under know how to make a mighty fine cookie. (Can I call it a cookie?) Thanks, Bells. Everyone here loved them, and I can't wait to make them for my family at home.
I hope I'm not jinxing it by saying so but the Sunshine Sock by Cookie A is coming along nicely. So far I've been following the pattern, but I think I may wing the toe. I'll decide when I get there, which is probably going to be tomorrow, when I fly back to Wisconsin. Which I'm kind of sad about.
I love having the summer off and being able to spend chunks of time with my brothers and their families. It's nice to be part of their lives rather than just meeting for holidays and other occasions.

I was on a quest for Lyle's a little while ago when I wanted to make treacle tart (which isn't nearly as cool as you'd think, actually, though it was tasty enough). I ended up ordering a 6-pack from Amazon, and there's plenty left...lemme know if you ever need more :)
Nice! glad you found some golden syrup and gave these biscuits a go - they are great aren't they! But you know you actually can't call them a cookie (I think) - I believe the name "Anzac Biscuit" and the corresponding recipe is protected, because of the association with the ANZACs.
The sock is looking great too!
oh wow, good on you. Great to see you found some golden syrup. Nothing less will do.
And I'm with RoseRed - the term anzac biscuit is protected. You must call them biscuits! he he
What a beautiful blue yarn! Can't wait to see the finished sock!
I won't be mad at you if you continue to call them cookies, afterall, you had to cookie them yourself. The corporations can keep their laws off our mouths, man. Are you coming to Alt. Knitting Camp?
Yummy - I may have to head off to World Market. I hope I don't add to the jinx - but that sock is gorgeous! Nice work! Have safe travels home.
